Baby Clinic
We hold a baby clinic once a week
Thursdays from 13:00
This time is exclusively for appointments with babies.
Dr Rowley-Conwy or Dr Hipps and the Practice Nurse, Dawn Goddard, are on hand to give advice and answer queries.
You can have your baby weighed when you come for your appointment.
During this time we have booked appointments for:-
6 week Baby Check
We will send you an appointment for your baby’s check up when they are registered.
The check-up is done at 6 weeks - or as soon after as possible.
The check-up is done during baby clinic at the surgery, and is done by Dr Rowley-Conwy or Dr Hipps.
During the 6 week check the GP will check general development, weight, responses and answer any questions you have at that time.
If you do not receive a letter with your baby's appointment please contact reception.
Baby immunisations
Your baby is due its first immunisation at 8 weeks old.
You will be given details of the immunisations due by the Health Visitor, or at your baby’s 6 week check.
If you haven’t received a leaflet explaining the immunisations, please ask us for one.
Alternatively go to the NHS Immunisation Schedule website for information about the vaccinations your baby will need.
The letter with the appointment for your baby's 6 week check will also include the date for your baby's first immunisations.
After their first immunisations they will be due more at 12 and 16 weeks.
These are also normally done during Baby Clinic but can be done by the Practice Nurse in any of her appointments.
It is important that your baby is immunised
Please bring their red book with you when you come in for appointment regarding them. This will ensure that their records are up to date.
