Prescriptions

If you are on regular medication you can order repeat prescriptions without seeing the doctor, if you are new to our practice you must see the doctor for your first prescription.

We do not usually give antidepressants, sleeping pills, the contraceptive pill or controlled drugs as repeat prescriptions (without being seen) – please make an appointment if you need more of these medications.

Treatment Review

Periodically you will be asked to come in for a check up with the doctor or nurse, to review the treatment you have on repeat prescription and to make sure everything is up to date and in order.
Your next review date is printed at the bottom of the order form.

If you require a prescription for a medication you do not take on a regular basis you will need to see the Doctor to receive this.

Paying Prescription Charges

Some patients can get free prescriptions.
But if you do have to pay you may be able to save yourself some money.
If you get more than 4 prescription items in 3 months, or 14 in 12 months, then you could save money with a pre-payment certificate (PPC).
To find out more go to

www.ppa.org.uk/ppc or pick up a leaflet from reception.
